Well I have discovered that everyone comes in with an agenda. To be open minded is to forget about this and be ready to absorb more.
In the ever more fast moving world open mindedness is under attack. Things which people cherish and are used to are fading away and so each person is choosing the things he wants to fight for and that becomes his (secret) agenda. This is natural and good. One should stand up for the things one likes, and believes is good for the world but the side effect is that everyone carries this agenda subconsciously. In this respect I would say the older generations of the decades gone by were much more free minded. They were free from this mess of more number of things to fight for, more number of inclinations and it was simpler for them.
